The Juicy Details

A teaser video hit the internet Friday, offering a mix of playful cast moments, brand-new characters, and the first bits of footage from the upcoming season—which, by the way, is still deep in production. Netflix is keeping fans on their toes, but here’s what we do know:

  • This season centers around Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the rebellious rake of the ton, who has zero interest in settling down—until he encounters the mysterious and mesmerizing Lady In Silver (Sophie Baek, played by Halo actress Yerin Ha) at a masquerade ball.
  • The teaser introduced three new arrivals: Lady Araminta Gun, portrayed by Katie Leung (Harry Potter’s Cho Chang), and her daughters, Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), fresh on the marriage mart and likely to stir up drama.
  • Fan favorites are back in full force—Jonathan Bailey as the brooding Anthony Bridgerton, Simone Ashley as the sharp-tongued Kate Sharma, and Ruth Gemmell as the ever-iconic Violet Bridgerton. A still shot even teased last season’s leading couple, Penelope and Colin, now basking in their post-honeymoon glow with a growing family.
  • Mysterious as ever, the teaser conveniently left out how Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers will factor into the new season, now that the gossipy puppet master’s identity is no longer a secret.

What’s the Hold-Up?

Netflix is keeping their cards close to the chest when it comes to a release date. The season is expected to wrap filming in April, but past seasons have landed anywhere from four to 14 months post-wrap—so settle in for the long wait.

The Big Question

Will Bridgerton pull the plug on Benedict’s bisexual arc? Season 3 saw the character embracing his queerness in a storyline that took liberties beyond the book series, where he’s strictly heterosexual. Showrunner Jess Brownell hinted last year that Benedict’s self-discovery would be a significant theme, but will Netflix lean into it or quietly push it aside? Fans are watching.

One thing’s for sure—scandal, seduction, and whispered secrets are on the menu, and Bridgerton Season 4 is about to serve them up in decadent fashion. Stay tuned.
