It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for. Sydney Sweeney is single again. Hollywood’s most eligible bachelorette just hit the open market. After seven years with fiancé Jonathan Davino, the Euphoria star has officially called it quits, according to sources close to the couple.
“Sydney and Jonathan are officially split,” an insider told Us Weekly, adding that she’s been letting friends know she’s back in the game.
Rumors of trouble started swirling earlier this month when Sweeney, 27, mysteriously scrubbed a social media post featuring Davino, 41. Not long after, reports surfaced that their wedding plans had come to a screeching halt.
“They were supposed to get married this spring,” another source dished. “The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Sweeney was spotted dining with her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell in Dallas just days after the news broke. Of course, the usual sources insist they’re “just friends,” but that hasn’t stopped the speculation from running wild.
Sweeney and Davino first sparked dating rumors back in 2018, with their engagement going public in 2022. Unlike most Hollywood relationships, they kept things relatively private. But as Sweeney’s star power skyrocketed, the whispers about her personal life got louder. In a rare moment of openness last year, she acknowledged the media frenzy surrounding her love life.
“Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with,” she told Glamour U.K. in December 2023. “I think it’s important to have something for me.”
That ‘something’ seems to have unraveled in recent months. Rumors of an affair between Sweeney and Powell popped up during the filming of Anyone But You, adding what sources called “a huge test” to her relationship with Davino. Both denied the gossip, but the internet did what the internet does best—speculate.
Ironically, Sweeney once swore off dating anyone in the industry, telling Cosmopolitan in 2022 that actors and musicians were a hard pass for her. “I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way,” she said at the time.
