Craig Conover had it all—love, best friendship, and, by his own admission, a “great sex life” with Paige DeSorbo. Then, like a bad Bravo plot twist, it was over.
“We checked so many boxes,” the Southern Charm star lamented in the reality TV show’s Season 10 finale. “How are we giving this up? … It’s weird to mourn someone that’s still alive.” A poetic eulogy for a relationship that, by his telling, should have gone the distance.
Conover, 37, was all in. He had designed an engagement ring, ready to lock it down. DeSorbo, 32, had even asked him to buy it—before slamming the brakes. “Looking back, maybe that was her starting to panic or freak out,” he mused.
And like a man in love, he was willing to play ball. The Charleston lawyer-slash-reality-star even considered ditching the South for the cold, relentless streets of New York. But DeSorbo wasn’t having it. “She told me I’d resent her,” he revealed. Maybe she had a point, or maybe she just saw the writing on the wall.

DeSorbo, for her part, seems to be seeing things with a fresh set of eyes. On the Summer House aftershow, she admitted she’d been “blinded” to Conover’s “embarrassing” behavior. “I loved him so much that I tolerated too much,” she confessed.
According to the Giggly Squad podcast host, Conover had a habit of making her milestones about himself. “It was just embarrassing,” she said, adding that she’d even avoid sharing career wins because he thought she “worked too much.”
And if there’s one thing DeSorbo is sure about, it’s that splitting up was the right move. No second thoughts, no regrets. As for the cheating rumors swirling in the aftermath? “Baseless,” she shot back.
So there it is. A three-year love story filled with passion, promises, and a custom engagement ring that never made it onto a finger. In the end, it wasn’t geography or resentment that ended things—it was the realization that checking all the boxes doesn’t mean you’ve found the one.
