Love, Karate, and a Possible Engagement?
The dojo isn’t the only place sparks are flying. Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser, the on-screen rivals turned off-screen romance, just dropped a bombshell at Cobra Kai’s series finale event. A kiss? Check. Matching rings? Check. A million fan theories? Oh, you bet.
Walking the red carpet on Wednesday, Feb. 12, the co-stars sent the rumor mill into overdrive when they proudly displayed identical rings on that finger. A not-so-subtle hint that these two have taken things to the next level? Maybe. Neither Buchanan nor Mouser have confirmed, but the evidence is as loud as a crane kick to the face.
Reps for the actors have yet to respond, leaving fans to scrutinize every lingering glance and whispered word between the two. And there were plenty. Cameras caught Buchanan, 26, and Mouser, 28, looking at each other like they just stepped out of a romance movie, with an undeniable chemistry that could melt even the iciest of karate masters.
Dressed to kill for the event, Buchanan kept it slick with a classic suit over a lighter shirt, while Mouser shimmered in a minidress that turned heads. Their energy? Pure Hollywood magic.

Cobra Kai’s Cast: A Family Beyond the Screen
Speaking to PEOPLE at the event, Buchanan didn’t shy away from his admiration for Mouser, calling her “a hundred percent” his ride-or-die within the cast. But he made it clear—this isn’t just about one close friendship.
“To be honest, literally everybody. There’s not one person that we don’t hang out with and have fun with. We truly keep saying that we’re going to be around in each other’s lives forever. I don’t know how to explain it.”
He described the Cobra Kai crew as a “crazy, weird, cool family” forged over seven and a half years of high kicks, intense training, and binge-worthy drama. The bond, according to Buchanan, is unbreakable.
The End of an Era (With a Lot of Ugly Crying)
Since its YouTube debut in 2018 and its Netflix resurgence in 2020, Cobra Kai has built a diehard fanbase, keeping Karate Kid nostalgia alive and kicking. But in 2023, creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg announced that season six would be the final bow.
Buchanan admitted the last days on set were an emotional rollercoaster. “Always tear-filled,” he said, confessing that he “very ugly cried” by the end.
“I’d woken up about three hours before I was supposed to be on set and laid in bed staring at the ceiling. As soon as I got up to get ready, I just started crying and then had to pull it together. I was like, ‘Nope, nope. Got to hold it together until the end of the day.'”

Could Cobra Kai Strike Again?
The door to the dojo might be closing, but Buchanan isn’t ready to hang up his gi just yet. When asked about a possible return to the Karate Kid universe, his answer was clear: “You never know, but I hope so.”
“I would love nothing more than if they gave me the call. If they told me right now we’re going back in a few months, I’d be like, ‘Great, let’s go. Let’s just do it.’ And I hope we do get to revisit these characters later down the line at some point.”
For now, the final episodes of Cobra Kai are streaming on Netflix. But if Hollywood’s taught us anything, it’s that legends never truly die—they just come back for another round.
